MRC's Health Program for the period 2008-2011 focusses on the provision of skilled attendance, involvement and ownership by communities supported by operational research and capacity building.

Main goals
The aim of MRC's Health Program for 2008-2011 is:
To improve the health status of people in MRC's operational areas by providing primary health care, involving communities and conducting operational research.
This aim will be reach through the following five objectives:
1. To provide skilled attendance for health service delivery at all MRC supported PHUs (rural clinics) by 2011
2. To provide preventive health interventions at community level
3. To encourage community participation and ownership of health by communities
4. To implement research that will provide information for planning and policy
5. To support the national health human resource development

Underserved communities in rural areas with a special focus on children under age of five, (pregnant) women and youths.
Recruitment and training of staff
Rehabilitation of health centres
Building of staff quarters, water wells, latrines and maternity waiting homes
Provision of essential drugs, equipment, materials and reference literature
Provision of logistics for clinics and for referral systems
Health education
Form and use community groups in community based health care interventions
