Cordaid focuses on four key areas: participation, emergency aid and reconstruction, health and well-being, and entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, we have very limited space to accept proposals. In cases we do engage in new partnerships, we mostly do so based on recommendations from existing partners (or important actors in a region) mostly during field trips. Cordaid builds relationships with partners based on common values, common vision and a jointly defined strategy on how this vision can be translated into change. Change in power relations, change in exclusion mechanisms are the ultimate goals Cordaid together with its partners and allies strive to achieve. The building of relationships does not happen overnight. It is the result of interactions at different points and times that may lead to the formalization of partnerships.
